The Public and Commercial Services union (on behalf of the DVSA) have announced strike action

This will affect DVSA examiners (including motorcycle examiners) between December 2022 and January 2023. Currently London and the South East is scheduled for 4th – 10th January, and the Midlands (and parts of London) the 28th December to the 3rd January. This will definitely not affect CBT’s and shouldn’t affect Theory Tests, but it is possible Module 1 & 2 tests might be disrupted.

Normally we don’t know until the day of the strike if it is going ahead (to cause maximum disruption). If your test is likely to be affected – and not all examiners are in the PCS union or will necessarily go on strike, we will let you know as soon as possible. If your test is cancelled you will be able to claim Out of Pocket Expenses, which includes travel, child care, lost earnings (capped) and the cost of rebooking the test. The test fee itself will be rebooked free of charge.

Lightning Motorcycle Training can’t know in advance if a test will be cancelled, and we also can’t be responsible if it is cancelled. We can help with the rebooking and providing you with the correct forms and advice of how to complete them. As you can appreciate this is as frustrating for us as it is for you.
